Overview:

This webinar is designed specifically for behavior analysts interested in learning about adapting therapy based on the principles of ABA for toddlers aged 12-36 months. We will start by discussing the unique characteristics of toddlers at-risk for autism spectrum disorder and the importance of integrating caregivers into the therapeutic process. We will also present the Parent-Led Autism intervention for At-risk Young toddlers curriculum (“PLAAY”) and data supporting the model from a recently completed three-year study. We will review our curriculum checklist and a caregiver coaching checklist as resources for BCBAs. This presentation includes supporting literature and how-to case and video examples.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Participants will state 1 consideration for adapting behavioral assessments for toddlers (3.01, 3.02)
  • Participants wills state 1 best practice when obtaining informed consent for services in caregiver-led intervention (2.03, 3.02, 4.02)
  • Participants will state 2 ways behavioral skills training is adapted for caregiver-led intervention in the context of toddler intervention
