OBM Applied! Volumes 1 - 4
Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) is a sub-discipline of ABA, which is the application of the science of behavior. ABA emphasizes the use of operant and respondent procedures to produce behavior change.
The idea behind OBM Applied! is to learn by doing. Our goal is to provide tools, procedures, and exercises that can be adapted to help you meet the performance improvement needs of any organization: from human service settings and schools to Fortune 500 companies and beyond.
OBM Applied! Volume 1
Volume 1 includes: Chapter 0 Introduction to the OBM Applied! Workbooks Chapter 1 Project Scope – Covers the definition of the project, starting with the business opportunity, then discusses planning the OBM project in terms of scope, key stakeholders and their needs and wants, targeted behaviors and results of the project. Chapter 2 Behavior, Results and Data Tracking – Helps you to specifically identify what results are needed to impact your business opportunity, what behaviors produce those results, and how these things can be measured to allow you to track progress and success.
OBM Applied! Volume 2
Volume 2 includes: Chapter 3 Performance Diagnostics – This chapter covers assessment techniques to help “diagnose” the function of the relevant behaviors and associated results for the project. Chapter 4 OBM Solution Planning - Based on the scope of the project, targeted behaviors and results, and the performance diagnostics, a specific plan will be created using research-based approaches to make improvements. This chapter is where you get down in the details of figuring out how to design your project to capitalize on your critical business opportunity.
OBM Applied! Volume 3
Volume 3 includes: Chapter 5 Engaging the Doers – Learn how to engage the people who have the greatest direct impact related to your business opportunity and get them performing in the way that will produce results. Chapter 6 Evaluating the Data – Covers how to engage your stakeholders using data, who should look at the data, and how to interpret data to make decisions. Chapter 7 Sustainability –Describes what elements are needed to sustain project gains. A successful project is one that sustains after the OBM practitioner has stepped away, because it is now part of the company’s culture.
OBM Applied! Volume 4
Volume 4 includes: Chapter 8 Social Validity – In this chapter you will implement a social validity check – did the project work, did we do what we set out to do, and would we do it again? Chapter 9 Principles of Effective OBM Consulting – In this chapter you will learn principles of consulting for the OBM practitioner, including ethical considerations. Chapter 10 OBM Beyond the Project – Learn ways to get involved in OBM beyond your project. While this course is designed to teach you how to implement an OBM project, true mastery comes with frequent, repeated practice.
