OVERALL DESCRIPTION:

In this walk through of Motivational Interviewing for Parents of Neurodiverse, learners are exposed to how to teach the spirit of motivational interviewing to parents of children with Autism. Learners are exposed to concepts like Developmental versus Chronological age expectations for children with executive functioning, the righting reflex, empathy versus sympathy, OARS, and more. Learn how to teach your parents the skills they need to improve their relationship with there autistic children through the skills of motivational interviewing. Those who pay for a subscription will have access to the full curriculum, while those watching the presentation will have brief exposure to the tools.

Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:

- articulate the difference between developmental versus chronological age.

- communicate what the righting reflex is.

- communicate the spirit of motivational interviewing to parents of neurodiverse children.

- help family members identify what level of executive functioning their child is at.
